Study of knowledge, attitude, practice of rational use of medicines among interns at Mc Gann teaching district hospital, Shivamogga- a descriptive cross-sectional study

Background: Rational use of medicines requires that the patients receive medication appropriate to their clinical needs, in doses meet own individual requirements for an adequate period lime, and at lowest cost them community. Objective study were like descriptive cross- sectional was conducted determine identify level knowledge, attitude practice regarding rational among interns.Methods: A validated structured questionnaire containing 19 questions (KAP) format distributed hand 109 interns affiliated this institution. Descriptive statistics used illustrate results form number percentage.Results: Out interns, 102 completed included final analysis. Majority who participated aware concept medicine but knowledge related EML (essential list), P drugs, schedule H drugs FDCs (fixed dose combination) limited.Conclusions: As are future prescribers, they need be all aspects there is emphasise on learning module training programs ensure have medicines.
